Dangerous weapon, domestic violence charges – Nundah

Police have charged a 32-year-old Zillmere man following an alleged siege at a York Street address in Nundah on Sunday, July 16.

Officers were called at approximately 2pm to reports of a man allegedly armed with a gun inside the property.

Upon arrival, officers were notified that a man had barricaded himself inside the residence.

An emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) was made, and the man was taken into custody just after midnight on Monday, July 17.

It will be alleged a gun was located inside the property a short time later.

No one was injured during the operation.

It will be alleged the man had been wanted by police in relation to a number of weapons and criminal offences, and was the subject of an appeal by police on Saturday, July 15.

The 32-year-old has been charged with 13 offences including five counts of contravention of domestic violence order, two counts of stealing, and one count each of serious assault police officer, dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful possession of weapons, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), robbery in company and wilful damage.

He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, Tuesday, July 18.
