Residents in Dayton will soon enjoy access to a new three-hectare park to give families in the area a place to gather together and play.
The new Dayton Neighbourhood Park will include a turfed area, play space, landscaping, toilet block and carpark.
The park is the first stage of a broader project that will deliver a total 15 hectares of recreational space to the young suburb.
City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said he is delighted to share that works for Dayton Neighbourhood Park are on track.
“This exciting project will commence this financial year and conclude in 2021,” he said.
“Dayton is part of the Urban Growth Corridor, one of the City’s largest and fastest growing residential areas.
“Building this park is all about providing the services our residents need to get active and enjoy the great outdoors.
“You can drive past Lots 28 and 29 Arthur Street and Lot 555 Blundell Street in Dayton to see what’s happening.”
Deputy Mayor David Lucas said while works are underway for Dayton Neighbourhood Park, the City will be busy planning the second stage.
“The second stage, known as the Dayton District Open Space, is a multimillion-dollar development which will be constructed over multiple years,” he said.
“With the completion of each stage of work, residents in Dayton and surrounding suburbs will be able to access top grade facilities.”
