Since this past November, golfers of all ages and skillsets have teed off for The Longest Day 2024, hitting courses locally and across Australia in the aim of raising much-needed funds for cancer research.

Almost 150 golfers across Esperance, Hillview, Bunbury, Rottnest Island, Araluen, Ledge Point and Port Hedland Golf Clubs took part on the day, playing as much (or as little) golf as possible, with some dedicated supporters playing 54 or even 72 holes on the day.

For a number of clubs, their Longest Day proved to be memorable!

Rottnest Island

Held across 15 to 17 November 2024, Rottnest Island’s second annual The Longest Day was a massive success, with over $45,000 raised so far.

Special thanks goes to the event’s organiser Mark Heron, whose tireless passion and drive made the day the possible.

Bunbury

On Monday 6 January, 12 members from the Bunbury Golf Club held their third Longest Day event thanks to the organising efforts of the club’s General Manager, Des Shearer.

With over $10,000 raised so far, it was a memorable day made even more so with one member, Josh Smith achieving a hole-in-one!

Ledge Point

We are so grateful for the generosity and support of the Ledge Point community, who raised an impressive $18,000 for The Longest Day challenge, well surpassing their original target of $4000.

This achievement was made possible by the efforts of over 60 participants who contributed their time. Thank you to everyone involved!

To all golfers who have so far taken part in a Longest Day fundraising event, from novices to season professionals, we thank you for your dedication to a cancer free future.

Keep an eye out for 2025 registrations later in the year!
