Delivering A New Community Centre For Melton

  • Minister for Local Government

Melton residents will soon have easier access to vital services with construction starting on a brand new community centre thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Local Government Adem Somyurek today joined members of Melton City Council and the local community to turn the first sod on the $4.5 million redevelopment.

The Labor Government is investing $2 million towards the project through the Growing Suburbs Fund, which supports the delivery of services and infrastructure in some of Melbourne’s fastest growing communities.

The project will transform the existing outdated centre into a modern facility that brings Melton City Council and allied community service providers all together under one roof.

The hub will provide a space where people can come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment to access much needed education, migrant support and family violence support services.

Over the last four years, the Labor Government has invested $23.8 million in 24 Growing Suburbs Fund projects in Melton City Council.
