Double drama in store at Civic Theatre this week

Theatre afficionados are in for a treat this week as New Zealand theatre company A Slightly Isolated Dog brings two huge shows to Townsville Civic Theatre.

Age-old stories Don Juan and Jekyll & Hyde will have new life breathed into them during the performances on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the two shows were unmissable.

“You’re guaranteed a good night out if you head along to either Don Juan on Tuesday or Jekyll & Hyde on Wednesday,” Cr Greaney said.

“A Slightly Isolated Dog is an innovative company that pushes the envelope and ramps up the energy for each and every performance. I have no doubt that audiences from either show will be stoked by the time the lights go down.”

Cr Greaney said bringing shows like Don Juan and Jekyll & Hyde to Townsville was part of Council’s commitment towards arts and culture.

“As the arts and culture capital of Northern Australia, Council is proud to put world-class theatre on local stages. These two shows will be great for the general public to enjoy as well as for aspiring thespians to be inspired by,” she said.
