A man has been charged after allegedly blowing more than six times the legal limit after a crash in Sydney’s west yesterday.
About 3.20pm (Wednesday 29 December 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Mulgoa and Blaikie Roads, Penrith, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found a Ford Falcon sedan had mounted a median strip and crashed into a street sign.
The driver of the vehicle – a 31-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside breath test, allegedly returning a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.313.
The Glenmore Park man’s driver’s licence was immediately suspended and confiscated.
He was charged with drive with high-range PCA, negligent driving (not death or grievous bodily harm), and use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road.
The man was given conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 11 January 2022.
