Driver caught six times over legal limit in Moorebank

A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly being caught more than six times over the legal limit in Sydney’s south-west today.

About 12.30pm (Wednesday 26 May 2021), police were called to Newbridge Road, Moorebank, after receiving reports from Triple Zero about the manner of driving of a blue Toyota Camry.

A member of the public then approached the Camry which had stopped at the intersection of Newbridge Road and Moorebank Avenue to assist until the arrival of officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.316.

The driver was charged with high-range PCA and had his license suspended.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 17 June 2021.
