Moorabbin Highway Patrol along with Road Policing Drug and Alcohol Section, detected 12 motorists drink driving as part of a local road policing operation targeting impaired drivers in Gardenvale.
Operation Funnel-Web saw drug and alcohol buses on the south bound lanes of the Nepean Highway from 7.30pm on Friday 20 May till 2am on Saturday May 21, to catch impaired drivers in their tracks.
As part of the operation police also found 11 unauthorised drivers, issued 25 penalty notices for various traffic offences and impounding five vehicles.
Of the 12 drivers processed for drink driving, the highest result was 0.160.
Police are warning all motorists to not become complacent with significant and highly visible patrols to continue.
