Eastern Region Crime Squad detectives have now completed their investigation into an affray in Oakleigh in April.
In the last wave of arrests, a further five teenagers were arrested – taking the total number of teenagers now arrested and charged to eleven.
Overall, six teenagers, two 14-year-olds, three 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old have all been charged with intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence.
The youths have been remanded in custody to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The 18-year-old has been remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 22 July.
Another five teenagers, a 15-year-old and four 17-year-olds, have all been charged with affray and violent disorder.
The teens have been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The charges follow an affray in Eaton Mall where approximately 12 people were seated when they were allegedly approached by a large group wearing balaclavas, some alleged to be carrying machetes
on Friday 17 April about 7.45pm.
An 18-year-old Malvern East man was stabbed and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 16-year-old male was also assaulted but sustained no physical injuries.
It is alleged the parties involved in the incident were known to each other.
Investigators are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
