Fatal Fire Investigation At Burpengary

Queensland Police are investigating following a fatal fire at a housing complex at Burpengary last night, March 11.

Initial investigations indicate that around 9pm, emergency services were called to the Morayfield Road complex following reports of a fire inside one of the units.

Upon arrival, the unit was well involved, and residents from neighbouring units were evacuated.

Once the fire was able to be extinguished, an initial examination of the scene located the body of one deceased person, believed to be an 83-year-old male resident, who remains unaccounted for.

A crime scene has been declared, and investigations into the cause of the fire and formal identification of the deceased are ongoing.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.
