The Feeding the Future Conference will be hosted by the Infant Nutrition Council which represents the majority of manufacturers, marketers and ingredient suppliers of infant formula and toddler milk drinks in Australia and New Zealand at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongawera, Wellington, New Zealand, 18-19 October 2022.

It will be opened by the New Zealand Minister of Agriculture and Trade & Export Growth, Hon. Damien O’Connor.

This is the only infant and young children nutrition conference held by the industry globally, and features a line-up of experts from around the world. Topics will include:

  • Major research showing over 90 per cent of 6–12-month-old infants and one in four toddlers aged 1-2 years receive inadequate iron based on their dietary intake, including breastfed infants.
  • The impact of formula shortages on health outcomes for infants in the United States and efforts to address this crisis in infant health.
  • The need to ensure health outcomes for infants and toddlers irrespective of whether they are breast or formula fed.
  • The need to update regulations governing infant nutrition to reflect the changes in the make-up of families in Australia and New Zealand in the last decade.

Media will be able to report on proceedings and speakers, and one-on-one interview access to speakers will be arranged where available.
