Four arrested following Melton licensed premises armed robbery

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have arrested four people following an armed robbery at a licensed venue in Melton last month.

A 38-year-old Melton West woman was this arrested this morning.

She was interviewed by police and subsequently released pending further enquiries.

With assistance from the Air Wing and the Dog Squad, a 47-year-old Melton West man was arrested fleeing from an address in Melton South on Friday, 3 November.

Just prior to the arrest the man dropped a bag containing approximately $25,000 cash which was then seized by investigators.

The man was subsequently charged with armed robbery with an offensive weapon, aggravated burglary with an offensive weapon, theft, possess methylamphetamine and dealing with proceeds of crime.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 7 February, 2024.

With assistance from the VIPER Taskforce, four search warrants were executed in the Melton area on Wednesday, 1 November.

A 56-year-old Melton man was charged with armed robbery with an offensive weapon, aggravated burglary with an offensive weapon, theft, possess cocaine and drive whilst disqualified.

A 48-year-old Melton woman was charged with aggravated burglary with an offensive weapon, theft, make false report, possess cannabis, possess methylamphetamine and two counts of possess proceeds of crime.

The man was remanded and the woman bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 7 February, 2024.

The charges follow an incident at a licensed venue on High Street in Melton just before 6am on Thursday, 12 October.

Investigators will allege a man armed with a taser gained access to a ‘strong room’ inside the venue, stealing a substantial amount of cash.

A female staff member was allegedly threatened during the incident, but she was not physically injured.

Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.

The investigation remains ongoing.
