Four charged over Ulverstone robbery and Somerset burglaries

A youth and three adults have been charged following an attempted robbery in Ulverstone and the burglary of several storage sheds in Somerset on Monday.

Police were called about 6:40am, after a youth, a man and a woman reportedly entered the West Ulverstone home of someone known to them, assaulted the resident and attempted to steal items from the property.

A 16-year-old boy from Somerset, a 24-year-old woman from Ulverstone and a 34-year-old man from Western Tasmania were arrested by police at an Ulverstone address a short time later.

About 8:45am police were alerted to the burglary of several storage sheds in Somerset.

Police conducted a search at the Ulverstone address and located property believed to be stolen from the storage sheds.

Investigations indicated a fourth person was involved with the burglaries, and a 36-year-old man from Shorewell was then arrested, with further reportedly stolen property located at the premises.

Investigations are ongoing and police are still wanting to speak to a woman from the Burnie area who is believed to be in possession of a stolen silver Toyota C-HR, registration K54ZE (similar to attached image).
