Four teenagers have been charged following an investigation into a number of aggravated home invasions in Sydney’s north, one which left a man in hospital.
About 11.35pm on Sunday 15 May 2022, a group forced entry to a home on Captain Cook Drive, Willmot, near Mt Druitt, and allegedly assaulted two occupants – a 30-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man – before stealing personal items from the home.
A teenage girl was at the home at the time but was uninjured.
Then about 12.45am the next morning (Monday 16 May 2022), police attended a home on Porpoise Crescent, Bligh Park, after reports several men had forced entry to the home and threatened a 32-year-old man, before he was stabbed to the upper arm.
The group fled the scene in a vehicle, while the man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition; he has since recovered.
A woman and four children were also at home at the time of the incident but were uninjured.
Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command commenced an investigation into both incidents, prior to detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad taking carriage under Strike Force Dites.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators – with assistance of Raptor Squad officers – executed a search warrant at a home in Macquarie Fields about 11.20am yesterday (Tuesday 19 July 2022).
A 16-year-old boy later attended Campbelltown Police Station about 4.50pm, where he was arrested and charged with robbery in company while armed with dangerous weapon, specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-wound, steal motor vehicle, drive conveyance taken without consent, be carried in conveyance taken without consent, never licenced person drive vehicle on road and participate in criminal group.
He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court later today (Wednesday 20 July 2022).
Three further teenage boys – two aged 17 and one aged 18 – were arrested at St Marys Police Station.
The 18-year-old was charged with eight offences including be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, in company rob while armed with dangerous weapon, special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, steal motor vehicle, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
One of the 17-year-old’s was charged with robbery in company while armed with dangerous weapon, specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-wound, possess unauthorised pistol, steal motor vehicle, drive conveyance taken without consent, be caried in conveyance taken without consent and participate in criminal group.
The second 17-year-old was charged with robbery in company while armed with dangerous weapon, specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-wound, steal motor vehicle, be caried in conveyance taken without consent (x2) and participate in criminal group.
The 18-year-old was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today, while the younger boys were both remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court today.
