Free tendering workshop offered by NSW Government

Lithgow Council

Lithgow City Council is encouraging the local business community to consider registering for a free workshop which aims to increase local tendering capacity and capability.

The NSW Government spends about $40 billion a year on goods and services and has a policy of increasing the amount it spends with small and medium businesses.

“With significant projects in the pipeline such as the upcoming Great Western Highway upgrade, it is vital that our local businesses have the skills to put their best foot forward and secure available opportunities,” said Lithgow City Council’s Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham. “This can be a challenging process, however securing state and federal work doesn’t just ensure our local businesses thrive, it acts as an injection to our local economy generally.”

“I encourage all interested businesses to make use of this opportunity, delivered by the NSW Small Business Commission, in partnership with TAFE NSW,” noted Mayor Statham. “After all, having the knowledge, skills and confidence to tender for work improves your standing when tendering for any work, including that offered by Lithgow Council. Council has a local preference policy for procurement and would love to see more local interest!”

Workshop dates are as follows:

  • Friday 18 February 2022, 9am – 11am
  • Thursday 24 February 2022, 6pm – 8pm
  • Wednesday 9 March 2022, 9am – 11am
  • Wednesday 23 March 2022, 6pm – 8pm
