Fresh Face For Kemp Street Sporting Complex

Kempsey Shire Council

Sports are woven into the fabric of our community, bringing people together from all walks of life to celebrate shared interests, pursue fitness, and build camaraderie. As our region grows, so does the enthusiasm for local sports, making it essential that our facilities keep up with the demand.

The Kemp Street Sporting Complex, already a central hub for soccer and other sports activities, is about to become even better with an exciting upgrade to its infrastructure.

Starting in November, the much-loved venue will be revitalised with upgraded amenities, ensuring it remains an accessible, modern, and comfortable space for all who use it. Fencing around the facilities has gone up today, 4 November, marking the first visible steps in this project and keeping us on schedule for a refreshed building in time for Christmas.

The renovation project includes a comprehensive upgrade to the Kemp Street building, led by Osborne & Dowling, bringing a fresh look and feel to the existing toilets and changerooms.

Please note anyone with bookings over the next few weeks won’t have toilet facilities available during this time. Local user groups are aware of the project, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

These enhancements mirror the success of the recent Service Clubs Park refurbishment earlier this year, which has been widely embraced by the community. Now, Kemp Street will benefit from the same dedication to creating inviting, up-to-date facilities.

With construction set to wrap up by Christmas, the project aims to minimise disruption for regular user groups, providing ample preparation time before the start of the next soccer season. These upgrades represent our commitment to supporting our active, sports-loving community by providing modern, reliable facilities that encourage greater participation.

This renovation stands as a testament to our focus on growing with our community’s evolving needs.
