Federation Council has received funding under Round 2 of the Regional Housing Strategic Planning Fund from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for the preparation of a Stormwater Servicing Plan for the local government area.

Federation Council Mayor Pat Bourke said the Stormwater Servicing Plan will review the existing stormwater network in Federation and identify the capacity and location for future stormwater infrastructure.

“Council is thrilled to be one of the 16 Councils to receive this grant funding from the NSW Government for $230,000 to proceed with this project,” he said.

“This funding supports Council’s strategic stormwater planning work which will allow for the management of stormwater for urban and residential growth throughout the council area incorporating climate change adaptation.”

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said under Round 2 of the Regional Housing Strategic Planning Fund, 16 projects across regional NSW will help unlock 23,769 new homes sooner.

“Round two of the Regional Housing Strategic Planning Fund is about supporting regional councils to speed up and enable the delivery of new homes in the regions through funding for strategic planning projects” Mr Scully said.
