Grants offer career development opportunities for NT artists

The Territory Labor Government is supporting twelve young Territorians to launch careers in the creative industries through three-month paid work placements.

The NXT Gen Arts grants, worth $10,000 each, offer opportunities to artists and arts workers, aged between 18-25, seeking employment in the NT arts and culture field.

Offered through the 2021-22 Arts and Culture Grants Program, NXT Gen supports young early career artists in gaining knowledge, practical skills and hands-on experience in the arts industry, and to connect them with future employers in the sector.

Career development benefits and outcomes through this paid placement include:

three months paid employment while developing key skills as an artist or arts worker;

self-management as a professional artist;understanding arts management and the business of being an artist; andparticipation and contribution to creative industries and the next generation of arts professionals.
