Women-specific projects that enhance economic and financial participation, projects supporting our youth or our most vulnerable South Australians can now apply for a share in $1.25 million in new grants being delivered by the Marshall Liberal Government.
Applications are now open for the latest round of funding – and Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink is urging not-for-profit organisations to apply.
“These grants will support the vital work of not-for-profit organisations that are the heart and soul of our communities right across South Australia, including our regions,” said Minister Lensink.
“We want our women to be supported and empowered both economically and financially and that’s why we’re allocating grants of up to $25,000 for organisations who can demonstrate great ideas on how we can deliver this ongoing goal.
“Grants to support youth, as well as programs and services for LGBTIQ+ individuals and our most vulnerable are also available.
“These grants are an exciting opportunity for organisations to put forward new initiatives and receive a financial boost from the Marshall Liberal Government to get them off the ground.”
Funding can be used for a one-off project to improve a service or facility or plan activities and initiatives.
Applications for a minor grant of up to $10,000 will need to demonstrate how the project links to the social impact objectives of:
*Connecting – providing communities with opportunities to engage and participate
*Belonging – to communities that are inclusive, equitable and resilient.
Applications for a medium grant of up to $25,000 will need to outline how the project enhances social impact outcomes through one of the two above objectives or additionally:
*Aspiring – towards economic, social and civic empowerment
*Creating – safe environments to support wellbeing.
Priority will be given to medium projects that also address:
*Women’s economic participation and financial participation as identified in the Marshall Liberal Government’s new SA Women’s Leadership and Economic Security Strategy 2021-2024
*Issues identified in the Strong Futures South Australian Youth Action Plan 2020-2022
*Support programs and services for LGBTQI+ to reduce social isolation, build networks and develop mentoring opportunities.
Key dates:
*2021 minor grants round: applications open from 8 October to 26 November.
*2021 medium grants round: applications open from 15 October to 12 November.
*Subsequent minor and medium grants rounds will be advised in early 2022.
