Hearings to examine land use planning and recovery

The Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements will examine the extent to which natural hazard risk is incorporated into decisions about where people live, how land is used and the types of buildings that are constructed.

The Commission expects to hear evidence from academics, peak bodies, industry groups and state and territory representatives.

Thursday and Friday, the Commission expects to hear evidence state and territory representatives regarding recovery and funding arrangements, and suggestions for how these arrangements may be improved.
