Help BCNA Light Up Night for annual Pink Lady Match

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is inviting all Australians to help ‘light up the night’ during the annual Pink Lady Match to support their loved ones and those in their community affected by breast cancer.

Melbourne will play Brisbane in what is set to be a top of the table clash at the MCG on Thursday 23 June. The Demons will don pink socks and the umpires will wave pink flags to show their support for those at the ground and watching from home who have been diagnosed with the disease.

Primetime at 7.20 pm AEST on Channel 7, and in front of a crowd for the first time in three years, it will be a “must watch” match and no matter where you live you can get involved. Those unable to make it to the ground can stand in BCNA’s virtual Pink Lady on the ‘G and leave a message of support. The $25 virtual place is fully tax-deductible and can be purchased online at pinkladymatch.com.au. They can also buy a new PLAY4BCNA beanie!

BCNA’s 2022 Pink Lady Match Ambassador, Nicole Armstrong, was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer last year during a COVID lockdown. The mother of three has survived a stroke and is also a heart transplant recipient – hers is a story of resilience and gratitude. Nicole is a lifelong Dees fan and will represent all Australians affected by breast cancer when she delivers the match ball.

BCNA will also host a tribute Mini Field of Women outside the MCG to honour those diagnosed with and lost to breast cancer.

This year it is predicted that 20,741 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer, 57 every day. Help BCNA continue to provide information and support through every stage of someone’s treatment and care by getting involved in this year’s Pink Lady Match.

All funds raised will go towards ensuring Australians who are affected by breast cancer receive the very best care, treatment and support.
