Winter’s Wonderful is a new campaign to inspire travellers to experience for themselves the spectacular landscapes, cherished heritage, thriving food and wine scene, and wonderful festivals and culture, that make Wingecarribee Shire such a special place to live and work.

To encourage visitors to stay longer and experience more of our townships and villages, the campaign highlights breathtaking winter walks, heart-warming reds by open wood fires, adventurous truffle hunts, exhibitions and events, seasonal menus and of course, the mouth-watering allure of Pie Time.

The Winter’s Wonderful campaign is running Channel 10 CBR and Illawarra, targeting shows such as Master Chef and The Project, and digital advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

An authentic experience of the local lifestyle is high on the agenda for visitors.

“People want to connect with us personally when planning their visit to tap into our insider-knowledge of hidden away gems and best-kept local secrets,” Libby says.

Spoilt for choice with 17 villages, three townships and 16 wineries to explore, visitors are guided in the character and personality that makes each unique. “Winter’s Wonderful is one of the ways we’ll be working to opening people’s eyes to an abundance of must-do experiences with a view to encourages them to stay longer and do more,” Libby says.

Exceptional food and wine experiences are a feather in the cap of our Shire’s destination appeal and President of GROW Southern Highlands, Brigid Kennedy, says “We have a local Tourism Team eager to share our beloved Highlands. Together with local industry their approach is putting sold building blocks in place for our recovery and with tough times ahead, we’ll need every bit of their help.”
