Police have charged an 18-year-old man with murder following the death of an 18-year-old man in Mount Isa.
Shortly after midnight on Sunday October 1, emergency crews responded to Gardener Drive in Pioneer.
Upon arrival, an 18-year-old Menzies man was located with serious injuries and was transported to Mount Isa Base Hospital.
He passed away as a result of his injuries on October 10.
An 18-year-old Sunset man was taken into custody at the time of the incident and was initially charged with grievous bodily harm.
His charge has since been upgraded to one count of murder and he is expected to appear at Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 13.
Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam of CCTV from the vicinity of Gardener Drive around midnight on October 1 is urged to contact police.
