Homicide investigation in Range, QLD

A crime scene has been declared following the death of a 42-year-old woman at The Range in Rockhampton this evening.

Shortly after 6.30pm, police were called to a Brae Street address following reports a woman had received multiple stab wounds.

Upon arrival, police commenced CPR, however she was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

Police conducted searches of the surrounding area and located a man on Pennlington Street, at approximately 8.20pm.

The 45-year-old man sustained what is believed to be self-inflicted wounds and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious condition.

Police will allege the man and woman were known to each other.

Investigations are continuing.
