Hostplus Self managed Invest is a “winner”

Large numbers of self-managed super fund investors have recognised the benefit of moving to Hostplus’ new Self Managed Invest product (SMI) and we are pleased that this investment innovation has now been recognised with a prestigious Super Ratings Award.

“Our Self Managed Invest product has been available to investors for only a short time but it has been an innovative step forward for the Fund and very worthy of an award for Best New Innovation 2020,” said Hostplus Chief Executive David Elia.

“We have been pleasantly surprised by the popularity of the SMI for those investors who have grown tired of administering their self-managed super funds, or others who want to reduce the high fees and compliance costs associated with looking after their own funds,” he said.

“In time, Hostplus will be releasing figures showing the level of inflows that the SMI option has generated but at the moment we can say that our targets and expectations associated with the SMI option have been well exceeded.”

“There is clearly a demand from investors for access to the range of high-grade investment options that SMI offers. We know self-managed fund investors will get a great range of quality investment choices, from access to our Balanced Investment Option, to property and infrastructure investments, including the IFM Australian Infrastructure Fund and the Industry Super Property Trust (ISPT) Core Fund.”

“Many investors have told us they believed they were generating reasonable returns for their self-managed funds compared to cash or bank term deposit returns.”

“Now Hostplus has created the opportunity for investors to get much greater returns on a range of high quality investment options at the same time as we substantially reduce their exposure to risk and compliance costs.”

“That’s got to be a winner all round,” Mr Elia said.
