Inmate and solicitor arrested over commercial supply of ‘ice’ as investigations continue into murder of Brayden Dillon, NSW

Detectives have arrested a prison inmate and a solicitor over alleged commercial drug supply and participation in a criminal group as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged murder of a teenager from Sydney’s south west.

Police were called to a home on Moresby Avenue, Glenfield, about 6.10am on Friday 14 April 2017, and found 15-year-old Brayden Dillon in bed with a gunshot wound to his head.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where he later died.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, assisted by the NSW Crime Commission, Criminal Groups Squad, and South West Metropolitan Region, under Strike Force Wongala.

Seven people have previously been charged by investigators. They remain before the courts.

Following further investigations, Strike Force Wongala investigators arrested a 62-year-old man at a home at Glebe just before 8am today (Wednesday 3 July 2019).

A short time later, investigators arrested a 40-year-old man, who is a prison inmate, at Goulburn Police Station.

The older man, who is a solicitor, has been taken to Newtown Police Station.

Inquiries are continuing.
