Inquiries continue after Brooklyn police operation, NSW

A police operation will resume later today in Brooklyn after a vehicle went over the Old Pacific Highway Bridge last night.

Emergency services were called to the location about 9.15pm (Monday 12 August 2019) after reports a vehicle had driven through a barrier into the Hawkesbury River.

Police divers entered the water about 4.15am but were not able to locate the four wheel drive.

The operation will resume later today when water conditions are deemed more favourable. The incident is not being treated as suspicious

Inquiries are continuing to identify who might have been in the vehicle.

The bridge has been repaired.
