Investigators continue to search for the body of Christie Downs man, Robert Atkins, who is believed to have been murdered.
Robert Atkins, 29, was reported missing by his mother on 2 January 2021, but had not been seen since November 2020.
He was held against his will and assaulted for 4-7 days at a house in Mander Road, Christie Downs.
Major Crime detectives understand that Robert was taken against his will to a house in Halyard Crescent, Seaford. It is believed that Robert was murdered on 16 November and his body disposed of in the Port Pirie area.
Major Crime with the assistance of Forensic Response Section have searched a number of premises in connection with this investigation, including houses in Mander Road, Christie Downs and Halyard Crescent, Seaford and a rural property at Booborowie.
Detective Inspector Brett Featherby, Major Crime, said, “We have received excellent support from the public since declaring Robert’s death at Major Crime.
“We have received 20 calls to Crime Stoppers that have help to advance the investigation and piece together Robert’s final moments.”
Detectives are also seeking further information from the public about two vehicles and their occupants; a black 2010 Jeep Cherokee, registration S556AJE, and a silver 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, BB744J.
Anyone who saw either of these vehicles or any suspicious activity in Mander Road, Christie Downs, Halyard Crescent, Seaford in early-mid November 2020 or in the Booborowie or Port Pirie area on 15 and 16 November 2020 is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
