Investigations commenced after house fire in South Penrith

A crime scene has been established after a house was found well alight in South Penrith today.

Emergency services were called to the home on Payne Street about 3.45pm (Saturday 19 October 2019), after reports a home was engulfed in flames.

On arrival police and fire officers cleared the home; two occupants escaped without injury.

A full investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway by detectives from Nepean Police Area Command.

At this stage it does not appear suspicious.
