Kilkenny clan lab arrest, South Australia

Police have arrested another person allegedly associated with the operation of an industrial sized meth lab located at Kilkenny in October.

The discovery of the large scale methamphetamine laboratory at Goodall Avenue, Kilkenny on 31 October formed part of an ongoing investigation linked with another industrial sized clan lab located at Scotia Street, Croydon three days earlier.

As part of the ongoing investigation, yesterday, 25 February, detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch, assisted by STAR Group, arrested a 38-year-old Findon man in connection with the Kilkenny clan lab. He was charged with manufacture a controlled drug. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 26 February.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Crameri said, “Clandestine drug laboratories pose significant risk to the community and contain corrosive, flammable and toxic chemicals that are often associated with fires and explosions. People who seek to produce illicit drugs can face penalties up to a $500,000 fine, life imprisonment and can also have assets such as houses and cars seized.”

Anyone with information about the manufacture, sale or supply of illicit drugs are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au – you can remain anonymous.
