Participants of Horsham Rural City Council’s Community Leadership Program celebrated their graduation on Wednesday night.
The event marked the culmination of a three-month journey aimed at fostering leadership skills and community engagement.
The program, which ran from May to July 2024, was designed to create a proactive and diverse pool of potential candidates for the upcoming 2024 Horsham Rural City Council Election.
Participants engaged in various sessions that covered leadership styles, communication skills, public speaking, and understanding local government.
Chief Executive Officer Sunil Bhalla highlighted the program’s significance.
“This initiative is crucial for developing community leaders who can drive positive change and enhance our community’s wellbeing,” Mr Bhalla said.
“The graduates represented a diverse cross-section of the municipality, reflecting different cultural backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.”
“Their commitment to the program and their communities was evident throughout the ceremony,” he said.
As the graduates embark on their next steps, Council looks forward to seeing the positive impact these new leaders will have on the community.
