  • Perth will welcome visitors from across the world when it hosts Australia’s premier agrifood tech event in February 2021.

AgriFutures Australia evokeAG connects delegates from more than 20 countries and across Australia to look to the future possibilities of agrifood technology and investment.

More than 1,000 delegates are expected to attend, including farmers, start-ups, innovators, researchers, businesses, government, universities and investors.

The past two events have been held in Melbourne and have attracted a contingent of Western Australian businesses looking to explore new opportunities to attract investment, value-add and scale up.

evokeAG will partner with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Business Events Perth and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation to showcase innovations and attract investment from across Australia and the Asia Pacific.

evokeAG will be held on February 16-17, 2021 in Perth.

As stated by Agriculture and Food Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

“evokeAG is leading the way in the agrifood tech conversation and we are thrilled to be hosting this event for the Asia Pacific region in 2021.

“Western Australia is already highly regarded for our quality agriculture and food production and our strong agtech scene.

“Our State is increasingly focused on value-add, agtech and foodtech as it diversifies our food and beverage offering and enables us to take further advantage of our excellent production environment and proximity to Asian markets.

“The McGowan Government is committed to investment in primary industries, research and development and innovative projects as we establish our State as an agrifood tech hub.

“evokeAG will provide an ideal platform to showcase our capabilities and attract potential investors and customers from across Australia and strategic markets across the Asia Pacific.”

As stated by Tourism Minister Paul Papalia:

“Business events like evokeAG form an important part of the State Government’s strategy to grow our tourism industry.

“Not only do people travel for these conferences but often they stay on to explore the State before or after the event – delivering benefits for the State’s hotels, restaurants, bars and other hospitality businesses.

“In recent years, thousands of additional high-quality hotel rooms have been added to the WA market, while at the same time the State Government worked hard to ensure occupancy rates were maintained.

“The McGowan Government, through Tourism WA, has given Business Events Perth budget certainty over the forward estimates to secure business events and pursue further opportunities in the space.

“In 2018-19, the organisation secured 111 conferences and 153 corporate and incentive meetings which generated around $153 million for the State’s economy in visitor spend.”
