Liverpool City Council Garden Comp Now Open

Everything’s coming up roses – and any other plant you care to name – in this year’s Liverpool City Council Garden Competition.

Building on the momentum of last year’s successes, this year’s competition will have seven categories and carry a total prizemoney of $3,500.

“It’s a great chance for Liverpool gardeners to show off the plants, shrubs and gardens they work so hard on,” said Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun.

“It’s our way of continuing to encourage the wider beautification of Liverpool through gardens.

“Our area will take as much greenery as it can get.”

This year’s competition consists of seven categories which will be judged by a panel of experienced horticulturalists.

Prizemoney will be distributed over eight categories:

  • Best Front Garden
  • Best Back Garden
  • Best Entire Garden/Property
  • Best Courtyard, Enclosed/ Area or Entrance Way
  • Best Balcony
  • Best School Garden
  • Best Themed Garden

The best school garden is ideal for students who grow flowers and vegetables outside their classrooms.

Entries are open now and close at 5pm, Friday 18 October 2024.
