This result consolidates Macquarie’s position in the top one percent of universities worldwide.

QS assesses more than 3500 institutions worldwide on research, teaching, employability and international outlook, and publishes the standings of the top 1000 universities worldwide.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Engagement, Professor David Wilkinson, said: “These results cement Macquarie’s place among the leading universities worldwide.

“It is pleasing to see Macquarie’s rise in international rankings, and while this is only one indicator of performance, it is a strong reflection of our commitment to quality research, teaching, international engagement and industry partnerships.”

Now in its 15th year, the QS World University Rankings is viewed as one of the three most widely read university rankings in the world, along with Academic Ranking of World Universities and Times Higher Education World University Rankings, results of which will be released later this year.
