Man and woman injured after cliff fall in Westleigh

A man and woman were injured after falling from a cliff in Sydney’s north west overnight.

Police have been told the man and woman – both believed to be in their early 20s – were with a group of people walking in bushland near Quarter Sessions Road, Westleigh, about 11.30pm (Saturday 2 April 2022), when they fell approximately 20 metres.

Emergency services were notified, and a multi-agency response commenced, including officers from Kuring-gai Police Area Command, Police Rescue, NSW Ambulance and Fire and Rescue NSW.

The man was treated at the scene for head and body injuries.

The woman was treated at the scene for a leg injury.

Both were winched from the location before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious, but stable condition.

Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
