Man charged following alleged aggravated robbery near Gosford, NSW

A man has been charged following an alleged aggravated robbery at an Erina pub last night.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Saturday 2 February 2019), a 38-year-old man followed a 24-year-old woman into the bathroom of a licensed premises on The Entrance Road, Erina.

Police will allege he demanded cash she had recently won, before punching and elbowing her in the head.

The man ran from the venue as other patrons rendered assistance to the woman.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District arrested the 24-year-old man a short distance away, and took him to Gosford Police Station.

The 24-year-old woman was taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition to be treated for injuries to her face, head, and arm.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, and refused bail to appear at Gosford Bail Court today (Sunday 3 February 2019).
