Man dies in hospital after assault – Manly

A man has died in hospital following an alleged assault at Manly last month.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to The Corso about 3am on Saturday 27 January 2024, and found a man suffering a serious head injury.

The 37-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives established Strike Force Ditchfield to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on Sunday 28 January 2024 and charged. He remains before the courts.

Last night (Tuesday 6 February 2024), investigators were advised the man had died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
