Man taken to hospital, another charged with drink driving at Guildford, NSW

A man has been charged with drink driving after another man was taken to hospital with serious injuries in Guildford last night.

About 9pm (Thursday 2 May 2019), emergency services were called to Guildford Road, after reports of a crash.

Police have been told a 32-year-old man driving a Subaru Forester hit a Mazda 3 parked on the side of the road. The Mazda’s driver, a 30-year-old man, was standing beside the vehicle at the time.

Emergency services were contacted and officers from Cumberland Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

A short time later, the 32-year-old male driver was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.77. The 32-year-old was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to attend Fairfield Local Court on 4 June where he will answer an allegation of driving with a low range PCA.

Crash Investigators are continuing inquiries into the events leading up to the crash.
