Man threatened with firearm during attempted car-jacking at Auburn, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car owner was threatened with a firearm in an attempted car-jacking in Western Sydney last month.

About 6.20am on Wednesday 27 November 2019, a 45-year-old man was cleaning his White Honda CRV on Dartbrook Road, Auburn when he was approached by an unknown man. The man entered the driver’s side of the car and attempted to drive off, before the owner pulled the keys from the ignition.

The man then allegedly produced a firearm and made threats towards the owner.

At this time a scuffle occurred, and a second unknown male appeared and allegedly assaulted the car owner, who sustained lacerations to his head.

The two men fled the scene in the direction of Auburn Railway Station.

The car owner was taken to Auburn Hospital for treatment.

Police would like to speak with two men they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged between 25 to 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper and track pants, and shoes with a white sole.

The second man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged between 17 to 19 years old, 175cm tall and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve shirt.
