Managing Covid19 Risk

In light of the rapidly evolving global situation regarding Covid19 The Barossa Council would like to reassure community that we are taking a variety of measures to ensure we are able to continue to provide a high level of support and service, and that we take the health of our community seriously.

The Barossa Council officers, lead by the CEO, will next week (week commencing 16 March) hold an urgent risk assessment and business continuity planning meeting in order to assess the risks of Covid19 impacting service levels, and to develop a plan of action to best manage provision of services should sufficient numbers of staff become unwell or quaratined to ensure least amount of distruption and to enable continuation of services to support community, especially during this time of uncertanty.

Additionally, Council will be following the recent advice of the Federal Government to postpone any non-essential events, and will work with our stakeholders and community groups which utilise Council facilities for the provision of events and gatherings as to how best to manage such activities especially where vulnerable members of the community are involved.

In the interest of daily hygiene practices hand sanitiser and hygiene related equipment for both staff and public entering Council offices, libraries, Gallery, Visitor Centre and depots will be provided for with signage to encourage the use of such items upon entering these facilities.
