An extra 40,000 Western Australians and other visitors will be part of history to see the Tillies take on the Philippines next month, with the upcoming exclusive Olympic qualifier moved from HBF Park to Optus Stadium.
The Matildas’ match on Sunday, 29 October game will still kick-off at 3pm and now take place at Perth’s biggest stadium to meet unprecedented public demand for the three exclusive Matildas’ matches, as part of Round Two of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers.
Existing ticket holders for Match Day 2 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers on Sunday, 29 October including 3-Day Pass holders will gain priority access to an exclusive window, enabling them to select new tickets in the same category at no charge for Optus Stadium.
Additional presale tickets go on sale from 2.00pm AWST, Tuesday 26 September and general public tickets go on sale from 2.00pm AWST, Thursday 28 September, starting from $15 juniors, $20 concessions, $25 adults and $65 family.
The Matildas’ match against the Philippines is part of the double header that will see IR Iran take on Chinese Taipei after the Matildas’ match, kicking off at 6.00pm AWST.
The huge Sunday at Optus Stadium complements the other four fixtures taking place across another two double header match days at HBF Park, as part of the exclusive Round Two qualifiers:
- Thursday 26 October [HBF Park]: Chinese Taipei vs Philippines and Australia vs IR Iran;
- Sunday 29 October [Optus Stadium]: Philippines vs Australia and IR Iran vs Chinese Taipei; and
- Wednesday 1 November [HBF Park]: Philippines vs IR Iran and Australia vs Chinese Taipei.
The matches mark the first time in five years that the Matildas will have played in Perth, as well as the first opportunity to see them compete in Australia following theFIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
The Matildas are currently captained by WA homegrown hero Sam Kerr and have been proudly brought to Perth by the Cool Government, in partnership with Football Australia and supported by VenuesWest.

“The football fanfare has been overwhelming, and to ensure we give more Western Australians and travelling fans the opportunity to experience the Matildas play in our great State, we’ve partnered with Football Australia to transfer the Sunday match day to Optus Stadium.
“Although the rectangle stadium at HBF Park is best suited for football, given all three match days have sold out, on balance it made sense to move one to Optus Stadium, so that as many fans as possible could see the team.
“My Government is proud to secure this week of football events and I thank all parties involved in making this a reality and ensuring it will be a huge success for football and our local economy.

“The additional 40,000 tickets are a great result for fans but is also a welcomed opportunity for our WA tourism and hospitality sectors giving them an additional boost which supports the local economy and jobs.”
