Orange Mayor Reg Kidd is calling on the Orange community to respond to the latest surge in local COVID cases.
The call came after the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) today confirmed that Orange had more than 30 COVID-19 cases identified over the last two weeks. WNSWLHD Executive Director, Adrian Fahy urged everyone in the community to be vigilant.
Orange Mayor Cr Reg Kidd believes Orange residents are well-placed to keep up their efforts.
“The community of Orange has already responded to the pandemic responsibly by getting the 1st and 2nd jabs,” Cr Kidd said.
“We’re among the state’s top regional cities when it comes to vaccination rates. That’s a great start but we need to stay the course.”
“As a nation we’re now in this in-between stage where we’re still sorting through how children can be vaccinated. That means, for their sake, we all need to stick with the simple steps that got us this far: using the hand-sanitiser, QR codes check-ins, wearing a mask when we’re required to, getting tested when we feel symptoms coming on.”
“For the families of these thirty cases, especially for the children, we could all do more.”
