Police can confirm the name of the person who died following a water-related incident approximately 18km off the coast of South Dunedin on 17 April.
He was Brent William Marshall, 57, of Dunedin.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
Police’s thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
