The Nature Conservation Council of New South Wales (NCC), the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation, is excited to announce the appointment of Jacqui Mumford as CEO.
The Executive Board of the NSW Nature Conservation Council has appointed Jacqui to run the organisation following the resignation of Chris Gambian in 2022.
“I’m honoured and excited to take up this role with the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation” Mumford said.
“I couldn’t be prouder to represent NCC, an organisation made up of such a skilled team of campaigners, organisers and ecologists, and with such a long history delivering for nature.”
Jacqui first joined NCC in 2017 as Network Organiser. She has since run multiple regional and annual conferences, member trainings, and visited regional communities and member groups on the frontline of climate and environmental destruction.
Jacqui Mumford has a diverse background in strategic leadership, philanthropy, organising and environmental compliance. She brings this wealth of experience into her new role as CEO of the Nature Conservation Council of NSW, alongside a passion for climate action and environmental protection.
Since Gambian’s departure in 2022 Jacqui has been Acting CEO, leading NCC during the NSW election.
“My focus as CEO is to continue the great work we are already doing, protecting the Murray Darling Basin, ending native forest logging, and ramping up NSW’s commitments on climate action”
Chair of the Board Carolyn Loton said “The Board of the NCC is delighted to formally appoint Jacqui Mumford to the role of CEO. Jacqui is a dynamic and highly capable leader, and we look forward to supporting her and the NCC team to advocate and achieve great outcomes for nature in NSW.”
