NSW Police Force Commissioner Mal Lanyon APM has today announced the appointment of five new Assistant Commissioners.
Assistant Commissioner appointments are as follows:
- Superintendent Gina Bostick appointed to Assistant Commissioner Innovation and Projects Command
- Superintendent Paul Dunstan appointed to Assistant Commissioner State Operations and Emergency Management Command
- Superintendent Kylie Endemi appointed to Assistant Commissioner Health, Safety and Wellbeing Command
- Superintendent Michael McLean appointed to Assistant Commissioner Professional Standards Command
- Superintendent Greg Moore appointed to Assistant Commissioner Western Region
The following Assistant Commissioners will take on new areas within the organisation:
- Assistant Commissioner Rashelle Conroy will move from Health, Safety and Wellbeing Command to Technology and Communication Services Command
- Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree will move from People and Capability Command to State Crime Command
- Assistant Commissioner Stephen Hegarty will move from State Operations and Emergency Management Command to Southern Region
- Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland will move from Western Region to People and Capability Command
- Assistant Commissioner Stacey Maloney will move from Technology and Communication Services Command to South West Metropolitan Region
- Assistant Commissioner Scott Whyte will remain with the Office of the Commissioner, having moved from Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command
Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley congratulated the new Assistant Commissioners on their appointments.
“Each Assistant Commissioner is a distinguished leader who brings significant experience, professionalism and a strong record of service to the people of NSW,” Minister Catley said.
“These officers exemplify what it means to be a member of the NSW Police Force, showing courage, compassion and an unwavering commitment to their community, even in the toughest of times.
“Importantly, they are the next generation of leaders within the NSW Police.
“I look forward to working with all five as they take on these important roles and continue serving the people of NSW.”
Commissioner Lanyon said the new appointments highlighted the strength and depth of leadership across the NSW Police Force.
“I am incredibly proud of the calibre of leaders we continue to develop, and these appointments reflect the depth of experience and leadership that exists across our organisation,” Commissioner Lanyon said.
“The appointment of five new Assistant Commissioners is a significant milestone, not only for those who have been appointed, but for the future of the NSW Police Force.
“Their promotions demonstrate that we have a strong line of capable leaders coming through and that we are well placed to continue our core role to serve and protect our communities.
“Each of these officers has made an outstanding contribution to policing and keeping our communities safe and I congratulate them on their well-deserved promotions.
“I wish them every success as they take on these important leadership roles.
“I also wish to acknowledge the transition to retirement of Assistant Commissioner Brett McFadden and thank him for his commitment to the NSW Police Force over many years.”
The five new Assistant Commissioner appointments will take up their positions from Sunday 27 September 2026.
ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER BIOS:
- Assistant Commissioner Gina Bostick has a 34-year career which commenced with the NSW Police Force on the 24th of July 1992. She has served in General Duties in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and her career has spanned operational, intelligence, covert, counter-terrorism and specialist technical areas. Most recently she served as the Commander of the High Tech Crime Branch within Forensic Evidence and Technical Services. She was also an Inspector in Digital Forensics Branch within the Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command. She has relieved as an Assistant Commissioner over the past 4 years including at Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command, Technology and Communication Services Command, State Intelligence Command, Police Property Group and Professional Standards Command.
- Assistant Commissioner Paul Dunstan has 32 years’ service and commenced with the NSW Police Force on the 18th of November 1994 serving in General Duties at Liverpool and Macquarie Fields, before transferring into Criminal Investigations at Surry Hills, Eastern Suburbs, and City Central. He rose to rank of Detective Sergeant in 2006 and then Inspector in 2011 before being promoted to Superintendent, Central Metropolitan Operations in 2021. Most recently he served as the Commander of St George PAC. He has extensive experience planning and leading complex police operations, including major events, sporting fixtures, protest activity and hallmark events across metropolitan Sydney. He has relieved at Assistant Commissioner level in both Regional and Metropolitan Commands and at Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command.
- Assistant Commissioner Kylie Endemi has 31 years’ policing experience and commenced with the NSW Police Force on the 16th of February 1995. She has served in General Duties in the Northern Beaches (Manly and Dee Why), before transferring to Coffs Clarence where she rose to the rank of Sergeant. She was promoted to Inspector/Duty Officer at Oxley PD before becoming Superintendent/District Commander of Oxley, and then Newcastle City PD. She has over the past 5 years relieved at Assistant Commissioner level across multiple commands including Western Region, Capability, Performance and Youth Command, Communication Services Command, Technology and Communications Services Command and Infrastructure and Assets Command.
- Assistant Commissioner Michael McLean has 32 years’ policing experience and commenced with the NSW Police Force on the 20th of May 1994. He has served in General Duties at Campbelltown, Moorebank, and Macquarie Fields before transferring to Criminal Investigations and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad. He also worked as a Duty Officer and Crime Manager at St George and Lake Illawarra, before rising to the rank of Superintendent. As a Commander he led Fairfield PAC, Campsie LAC, Anti-Terrorism and Intelligence Group and Misconduct and Management Support in Professional Standards. He has completed relieving across both Field and Specialist Commands. His most recent role has been as the Acting Assistant Commissioner of the Professional Standards Command, which will now be his substantive position.
- Assistant Commissioner Greg Moore has 39 years’ service and commenced with the NSW Police Force on the 10th of August 1987 and served in General Duties at Ashfield and Petersham before transferring into Criminal Investigations at Hurstville. He spent time in what was then known as Internal Affairs before moving to regional NSW as a Sergeant at Bourke. He was promoted to Inspector at Darling River, and as the Duty Officer and Crime Manager at Richmond PAC. He was promoted to Superintendent and Commander of Darling River, Central North PD, South Coast PD and the Emergency Management Command. He has managed and oversighted multiple state-based incidents and reforms. He has relieved at Assistant Commissioner level including at People and Capability Command, State Operations & Emergency Management Infrastructure & Assets Command, Capability, Performance & Youth Command and Western & Southern Region Commands.
