A new $3 million early childhood building at Eaton Primary School officially opened today by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery and Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray.
The interior of the new facility includes three modern classrooms, a kitchen and storage facilities, staff room, office spaces, cleaner’s room, student, staff and universal access toilets, and external storerooms.
Outside, there is a new undercover play space, gardener’s shed, an additional car park for staff, and the existing Parent and Citizens’ Association shed has been relocated.
The new early childhood building is part of the McGowan Government’s election commitment to invest $452.8 million in 2019-20 that will improve infrastructure in Western Australian public schools create local jobs.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“The new building and additional classrooms will help ensure Eaton Primary School can cater for rising numbers of students into the future.
“The classrooms and facilities will give young students the best possible start to their education with world-class learning spaces.”
As stated by Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray:
“This multimillion dollar upgrade is an outstanding addition to Eaton Primary School and will help students here start their formal education on the right foot.
“Ensuring all families in my electorate are able to learn in high quality facilities is vitally important to me – this is just another demonstration of that.”
