NSW police charge man after drugs, firearm and ammunition seized at Bankstown

A man will appear in court today charged by Bankstown detectives as investigations continue into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s south west.

In May 2020, detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command established Strike Force Polar to investigate drug supply, manufacture and cultivation throughout the local area.

Following inquiries, strike force investigators, executed a search warrant at a home on Resthaven Road, Bankstown, about 4.45pm yesterday (Friday 3 July 2020).

During the search, police allegedly located 65.4g of cannabis, ammunition, cash, and other items relevant to the investigation, along with an unregistered shotgun in the roof cavity. These items were seized and will be forensically examined.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug, two counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, two counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 4 July 2020).
