NSW police charge man over aggravated sexual assault at Bourke

A man will face court today after being charged with the alleged aggravated sexual assault of a woman in the state’s north-west.

About 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday 18 July 2019), a 37-year-old man was at a home in Bourke when it is alleged he sexually assaulted a woman.

It is alleged the man struck the woman to the head twice, before she fled the scene and notified emergency services.

Following inquiries, police attached to Central North Police District arrested the man outside of Bourke Police Station.

He has been charged with common assault, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (x2), and armed with intent.

The man was bail refused to appear before Bourke Local Court today (Friday 19 July 2019).
