Three people have been charged over their roles in an alleged aggravated break and enter and assault in the state’s south.
About 9pm yesterday (Monday 2 March 2020), police will allege in court that two men and a woman forced their way into a home in Lavington.
One of the men allegedly chased the 27-year-old male occupant and a physical struggle ensued.
During this time, the woman allegedly struck the man in the back of the head with a wooden chair leg.
He suffered head injuries and was taken to Albury Hospital in a stable condition.
A second occupant in the home, a 32-year-old woman, was allegedly physically detained during the assault. She was not injured.
The group allegedly left the house a short time later.
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.
Following inquiries, two men – aged 29 and 32 – and a 31-year-old woman were arrested at another house in Lavington about 1am today (Tuesday 3 March 2020).
All three were then taken to Albury Police Station.
The 32-year-old man was charged with specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – inflict grievous bodily harm and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The 31-year-old woman was charged with specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – inflict grievous bodily harm and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
All three were refused bail to appear before Albury Local Court today (Tuesday 3 March 2020).
The 29-year-old man was charged with specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – inflict grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
