NSW police seek help to locate man, another charged after woman detained at St George

A man has been charged and police are searching for another man after a woman was allegedly detained and her home ransacked in Wolli Creek yesterday.

About 5.30pm (Wednesday 27 January 2021), a 22-year-old woman was approached by two men as she left a Wolli Creek supermarket.

The men allegedly threatened her before forcing her to take them to her Levey Street unit, where they ransacked the home and stole a number of items.

The woman was able to contact a friend, and police were informed and attended the unit block.

Officers from St George Police Area Command located the men and woman in the foyer and arrested a 37-year-old man.

The other man fled, and a police operation commenced to search for him; however, he has not been located.

The 37-year-old was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with detain for advantage and robbery whilst armed in company.

He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court today (Thursday 28 January 2021) via Audio Visual Link.

An investigation is continuing to identify and locate the other man.
